The Third Person

Is it just me that finds being talked to in the third person so strange?

So recently I was talking to someone, and I don't think it ended on bad terms or anything. But one thing that I could not get over is how when he was talking to me, he would always call me she?

Ex: "She didn't like that I said that"

"She went to the store today"

Now this might not be the biggest deal, and definitely not the reason I ended things, but just something I wanted to bring to light. Sean* was a lovely boy and I truly believe we just were not made for each other, but this one thing about him just really gnawed at me.

And trust me I could 100% get over it if we were made for each other or even if this was a once in a while event. Girl, it was at least 2 times a day.

I am jumping ahead of myself, let me provide you with some background about Sean and me....

It all began many moons ago when I was a young girl with a crush on an older boy.

This older boy led me on and then acted as if he was unaware.

Although I might be avoidant in matters of love, I do defend myself when wronged. This resulted in some heated exchanges between us.

Years later, Sean reached out, apologizing for everything that happened in the past and expressing a desire to reconnect. Being a hopeless romantic with a history of bad luck in love, I agreed. We spoke for about 2 months and at that point I just knew it wasn't meant to be. Here "she" was again, alone.
